Shepherd and Wedderburn sponsors Broadband Stakeholder Group conference
Leading law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn, is once again sponsor to the Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG) conference, an annual event which takes place in London.
The firm has extensive experience and an exceptional client-base in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) sector, and its leading telecoms expert, Gordon Moir, will join other industry leaders to offer his views on what the UK telecoms sector might look like post Brexit; what the UK’s new relationship with the EU might be; and whether opportunities to exercise influence in the EU decision-making process will continue.
Gordon is one of the UK’s leading lawyers in the telecoms space. He has unrivalled cross-sectoral legal and regulatory experience at a global executive level as well as a deep awareness of regulatory and anti-trust issues in the UK, EC and globally. He is part of the firm’s Brexit Advisers team and a regular contributor of white papers covering regulatory issues in the telecoms sector.
At the conference he will speak about potential models for preferential access to international markets following the UK’s exit from the EU. He will also chair a panel discussion, sharing the stage with speakers from Vodafone, HUAWEI; techUK; and Virgin Media.
He said: “This event provides an excellent opportunity, at this critical time, for key industry participants to discuss European communications policy issues and Brexit..”
BSG Chair Richard Hooper CBE, stated, “We are bringing together regulators from Norway and Switzerland to give us their experience of life outside of the EU. This is a great opportunity for the industry to start to understand what we want and need from our new relationship with the EU”.
The event will take place at the offices of techUK, 10 St Bride St, London EC4A 4AD on Monday 31 October, from 9.30am and end with a networking reception until 6pm.
